LESLIE McGILL, BA, MA
A seasoned grant and proposal writer with more than 25 years’ experience, Leslie McGill has written or overseen the development of hundreds of proposals with a collective value of more than $1-billion. Her primary areas of expertise are health care, education, social enterprise, social services, the arts, and technology. She has written proposals of all types including: federal, provincial and municipal government grants; private and public foundation grants; corporate grants; individual major gift proposals and more.
Leslie’s experience spans work with Canada’s major teaching hospitals, universities and colleges. She has also worked with tier-one disease-based charities such as the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Canada and Heart and Stroke. Social services organizations like the YMCA are also counted among her clients, as are B-Corporations and social enterprises, as well as a vast array of smaller not-for profits in the tech sector. Her previous work in policy development, public engagement and advocacy gives her a keen insight into the world of government grants. Additionally, her longtime work with private family foundations yielded the single largest donation to a hospital in Canadian history.
