Shirin has over 20 years of leadership experience in the Canadian and International not-for-profit organizations focussing on Social Enterprise and Resource development. She has master’s degree in Public Policy Administration and Law from York University, Master’s degree in Educational leadership from Mumbai University in India and a Post degree diploma in Not-for-Profit Management from University of Western Ontario along with training from Kellogg Schulich School of Business.
Shirin is CEO of GrantX Inc, a company which has helped many not-for-profit organizations in organization and resource development. She co-founded and is president of Artists and Artisans organization which is focussed on assisting newcomer artists in GTA. She also sat on various boards and committees of leading organizations such as McMichael Arts Gallery, Toronto Food Policy Council, Arab Community Centre and Aga Khan Education Services India, playing an active role in funded programs by World Bank and European Union.
Moah Christensen, PhD.
Dr. Christensen is success driven professional with a passion for working with sustainability, the pursuit for funding, and creating multi-disciplinary networks in new areas. She has a proven track record of research and analytical abilities as a PhD and postdoc for proposal development and the ability to translate project visions into fundable proposals. As a grant writer, she has a lot of skills and expertise to offer to the clients of GrantX Inc.
As a PhD, she brings a research methodology into every job that she takes on. This means that she is extremely organized and bases all her analysis on facts to make sure that the proposals are well developed.
As a lawyer, Elizabeth Mullock focuses on a number of different areas of the law and has experience in corporate law (including both for-profit and non-profit corporations) and wills & estates. She prides herself on keeping abreast of new legal developments in a wide variety of areas.
As an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, Elizabeth majored in English (and psychology). During this time, she developed her written communication skills. She honed these skills as a law student at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. Her academic studies and work experience have taught her the importance of diligence and thoroughness when undertaking research and drafting documents, both legal and non-legal. Since her youth, Elizabeth has been involved in the non-profit & charity sector as a volunteer, including serving on the board of directors of a non-profit organization.
Elizabeth is also interested in creative writing and blog writing. Outside of the law and writing, Elizabeth is an avid yogi and runner and has a background in martial arts. If Elizabeth does not know the answer to a question, she knows how to use appropriate resources in order to produce a comprehensive and well-researched answer.
Nermine Zohdy is an International Development Specialist with a Master’s degree in Professional Development and 20+ years of extensive experience in the fields of project management, communications, advocacy and gender and a social entrepreneurship.
Her vast experience with donors, national and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and multi-stakeholders stemmed from her work with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Save-The-Children, the Arab Community Centre of Toronto and national NGOs overseas.
Her demonstrated strengths are in the areas of writing and editing, capacity building, presentations, corporate social responsibility, social media and development of promotional material for diverse audiences. A strong communicator with outstanding organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
Marina Praxedes is Seneca college graduate specializing in content writing, digital marketing and designing. She has worked with publications such as Travel Life Magazine, Ghost writing and Marketing Planning (Brand, Media & Design) at Alcorn Homes. Her preference is to write articles, blogs, website content and magazines.
Makeda Waterman is a writing professional in Edmonton of 5 years with features on MSN Money, CNBC Make It., and Yahoo Finance News. She is a master at writing blogs, articles, operational manuals, Disaster Recovery Plans, business plans, proposals, website content, PowerPoint presentations, newsletters, email blasts, marketing and expansion plans. She specializes in real estate, construction, technology, human resources, oil and gas.
Ms. Waterman graduated with a Journalism and Mass Communications Associate in Arts diploma at Miami Dade College. She has certifications in basic ITIL, business plan writing, Change Management, technical writing, and Incident Command System certificates. Lusine worked as an account and administrative manager for A-UP LLC where she performed general office duties and administrative tasks. After immigrating to Canada, she studied Accounting and Payroll Specialisation at triOS College. Her role is to manage the payroll and oversee the finances of the company
Hilary Johnston has ten years’ experience in the cultural sector as a marketer, fundraiser, and content writer.
She has extensive experience writing proposals for foundations and individual donors as well as developing corporate sponsorship opportunities. Hilary has helped organizations establish fundraising and donor stewardship pipelines, as well as raise crucial funds through events, peer-to-peer campaigns, and grassroots initiatives. She has also helped artists find financial security and reach wider audiences by securing project funding and touring grants.
Hilary is the former Managing Director of Sistema Toronto, a registered charity that provides music education and social programming to at-risk children. She has also worked for other non-profits, including The Royal Conservatory of Music, YWCA Toronto, and The Walrus.
Shelly has an incredible wealth of life experience, reflective of her ability to be hands-on and creative, yet analytical. She has worked in the trades as a welder-fabricator and in the film industry as a Special Effects Technician. She received a Master of Fine Arts and practiced sculpture, developed her own farm and raised funds for and managed agri-food businesses.
She has a great capacity for analytical writing and helping people to achieve success with their projects. She crafts excellent grant proposals which are insightful and result of her passion for content writing. Her rich life experience affords her great understanding and the power to write with knowledge.
Piyush Sharma is a professional web developer with over 10 years of experience. He has a master’s degree in computers from HNB Ghahwal University. He has a through understanding of web design and app development through wireframing, designing and development. His areas of expertise include designing of website which are UI/UX, CMS based websites, PHP/MYSQL/ E-commerce websites and React Native app development. Piyush focuses on planning phase which he believes is critical to understand how elements flow on different screens for mobile responsiveness. In his free time he likes to cook and play board games.
